About two years ago Pioneer Urban Arts and Holyoke Parks & Recreation sat down and came up with the idea to place
Edible Sitting Area
in our down town parks.
We wanted to not only beautify our parks but to also provide a healthy snack for our park guest.
Our hopes is that by placing edible plants in flower beds that we can help with lowering our country's childhood obesity rate, educate urban youth on healthy life styles, allow youth an healthy alternative to junk food, and to bring a greater sense of community .
Please Click Contacts at the to of this page for more pics and progress the youth are making.
